Looking for a meaningful way to spend your Saturdays? The 2026 New England Fly Tyers (NEFT) Youth Outreach Fly Fishing Program is here to inspire and engage youth, all while being completely free of charge! This exciting program runs Saturday Mornings, 8:30 am -12:30 pm Saturday, April 18^th – May 23rd, 2026

• Program is limited to a total of twelve (15) participants, between the ages of 10 and 17 years of age.
• The program is designed to develop beginning-level fly anglers; it is not expected or required that your youth already know how to fly fish to be accepted. (Basic previous experience is not a disqualifier)
• The 2026 NEFT Youth Outreach Program is conducted every Saturday beginning April 18^th -May 23rd. Instruction begins promptly at 8:30 AM and ends at approximately 12:30 PM. On-time / early arrival to the classes is important to ensure sessions begin on time.
• Any changes to the weekly classes will be communicated via email or text by the Program Director or Instructor.
• Students are expected to attend all six of the sessions.
• Parent or guardian must inform the Program Director by phone or by texting, in advance in the event of unexpected illness or extenuating circumstances.
• Applications are accepted through March 15, 2026, and will be reviewed until all slots are filled.
• A syllabus detailing the weekly schedule will be provided before the start of the program.
• Parents/Guardians are responsible for providing transportation of the students to and from the classes and activities locations described on the syllabus.
• Students who are age 15+ are required by law to have a Massachusetts fishing license when fishing. Fishing licenses are free for anglers ages 15-17 and may be obtained online at: https://massfishhunt.mass.gov/
• Parents/Guardians are invited to attend and observe any of the student activities and classes; however, are not allowed to disrupt or participate in the activities without the express consent of the Program Director or Instructor.
• Fishing equipment & supplies will be provided throughout the course by NEFT.
• Students will receive a binder with information and materials at the beginning of the first class that they will need to bring to each week’s class. Though not required, NEFT also recommends the student bring sunscreen, insect repellent, and, when applicable, rain gear.
